|english| We’ve got Sant Jordi’s shop window!!! yupiii!! is my first Sant Jordi in the ilovekutchi shop and I was anxious to do the shop window(I had it thought for months...). For those who do not know the history behind this special day I leave you the Legend of Sant Jordi:
the legend says that a long time ago there was a fearsome dragon that drew fire from his mouth. This dragon had fled the village, killed people with his flares and swallowed people alive. The villagers decided to give him two sheep every day, to appease his hunger and prevent more attacks. But... the sheep were over, then they gave cows ... and all the animals that they had, until they were left with nothing to offer. The king held a meeting at which it was decided they would give the dragon a person every day to satisfy his appetite. One day it fell to the king's daughter and very sorry he said: "Excuse my daughter and in return, I give all my fortune, all my gold... half of my kingdom." The people refused the king's request and he asked for eight days to mourn her daughter. On the day, the king left ahead for the cave near the dragon. But suddenly, when the dragon opened his big mouth to eat the princess, the brave knight Sant Jordi came riding on a white horse, with his spear and shield, to save the princess from the clutches of that big dragon. The gentleman raised his spear and hit the dragon, that fell with the spear stuck in his heart. Suddenly, from the blood gushed out a rose bush, with beautiful roses, and then Sant Jordi chose a rose, the prettiest of all, and gave it to the princess as a sign of love. Since then, the people of that place lived quietly.
In the present day, and in commemoration of the international book day, people exchange books and flowers (roses)... and, as you can see from the photos, flowers is something that is no t missing!! But these are in extremely beautiful and delicate paper, made in origami... these last ‘forever’! Dragons, castles and book covers are also present in what is, as my little friend Pol said, 'the most beautiful shop window since I opened the shop!’

|español| ya tenemos escaparte de Sant Jordi!!! yupiii!! es mi primer Sant Jordi en la ilovekutchi shop y me hacia mucha ilusión hacer el escaparate (ya lo tengo pensado hace meses…). Para los que no conocéis a la historia por detrás de este día tan especial aquí os dejo la Leyenda de Sant Jordi:
Dice la leyenda que hace mucho tiempo había un temible dragón que sacaba fuego por la boca. Este dragón hacía huir al pueblo, mataba a la gente con sus llamaradas y se tragaba vivas a las personas. Los aldeanos decidieron darle dos ovejas diariamente, para apaciguar su hambre y evitar que atacara a más personas. Pero... las ovejas se terminaron, entonces le dieron vacas, bueyes, ... y todos los animales que tenían, hasta que se quedaron sin nada que poder ofrecerle. El rey organizó una reunión en la que se decidió que harían un sorteo y le darían al dragón una persona cada día, para saciar su apetito. Un día le tocó a la hija del rey y él muy apenado dijo: "Perdonad a mi hija y, a cambio, os daré toda mi fortuna, todo mi oro y mi argento... la mitad de mi reinado". El pueblo negó la petición del rey y éste pidió ocho días para llorar a su hija. Llegado el día, el rey la dejó delante de la cueva, cerca del dragón. Pero, de repente, cuando el dragón ya abría su enorme boca para comerse a la princesa, apareció cabalgando, sobre un caballo blanco, con su lanza y su escudo, el valiente caballero Sant Jordi, para salvar a la princesa de las garras de aquel enorme dragón. El caballero alzó su lanza y de un golpe, el dragón cayó desplomado, con la lanza clavada en su corazón. De repente, de la sangre que le brotaba salió un rosal, con una preciosas rosas, entonces el caballero Sant Jordi escogió una, la más bonita de todas, y se la dio a la princesa en señal de amor. Desde entonces, la gente de aquel lugar vivió tranquila.
En los días de hoy, y en conmemoración del día internacional del libro, las personas intercambian libros y flores (rosas)… y como podéis comprobar por las fotos flores no faltan!! Eso si, en papeles súper bonitos y delicados ejecutadas en papiroflexia… porque estas duran ‘para siempre’! Dragones, castillos y fundas para libro también están presentes en el que es, según mi amiguito Pol, ‘el escaparate más bonito desde que he abierto la tienda!!’
Gracias Pol… Y a todos los que os habéis acercado hoy a la shop para ver todos los detallitos del escaparate, en especial a una niña de 3 años que se ha ‘colado’ en el vidrio enviando besitos a todos los dragones!!!
